How To Lay Vinyl Plank

There are many types of vinyl plank available and the quality of them differs greatly. As technology and innovation in materials used continues to evolve it is important to note which product would work better for you.

Today however, we are talking about how to install Luxury Vinyl Planks or more commonly known as LVP.

LVP is a cost-effective option that it easy to maintain and is hard wearing, even in high traffic areas such as hallways and kitchens. Luxury Vinyl Planks come in individual strips that imitate the look of a timber board and unlike click together boards, LVP pops out individually should it ever need to be replaced in the event of damage making this the stand out feature of the product itself whereas click together boards need to have an entire section replaced.

This along with it’s waterproof specifications makes it a great option for wet areas, such as bathrooms and kitchens. There are many different types of LVP but the most popular is the thicker “Drop Down Plank”. These planks have great acoustic properties are softer under foot and also have a high quality coating for easy maintenance which is our preferred style of plank when building a custom home.

So how long does Vinyl Flooring last?

Vinyl flooring is highly durable. If installed and maintained correctly, it can last upwards of 10-20 years without needing to be replaced.
